Tiny compounds in the breath have been found to identify patients on the brink of cancer so they can be treated earlier, say scientists. More research is currently underway. An extract of the marijuana plant has surprisingly been found to cut the rate of seizures in children who have epilepsy in half, some even becoming seizure free. The extract has the THC component that causes the "high" associated with pot removed. And... do "gummy vitamins" actually work? If you have kids, a sweet tooth or simply don't like traditional vitamin tablets, gummy supplements can be a tempting alternative. Unfortunately, they are not regulated by the FDA, so it's hard to tell how much beneficial ingredients are actually contained. Experts conclude that they can help a little, but they're not nearly as effective as traditional supplements. That and they aren't very good for your teeth. For RadioMD News, this is John Byrd.
